Black Chrome is a smooth-finished leather with a polished surface, further enhancing the beauty and quality of the leather. Only the most premium, top-quality hides are used to craft Smooth-Finished leathers. The result is a beautiful, classic-looking leather used to build more elegant styles, such as the Red Wing Heritage Beckman Collection. To maintain the polished look and feel of smooth-finished leathers a little more care and attention can be required, but for many it is well worth the effort.

The Moc Toe was originally conceived for Sportsmen in 1950's. shortly afterwards farm and factory workers took to the boots for their all-day comfort and lasting durability. Soon after the cut down styling of the Oxford appeared. The crescent-shaped toe stitching is inspired by the construction of moccasins originally worn by the North American Algonquin Indians.
